How much importance you give that your children learn music? If you think is not important you are mistaken; the person that learns music is not only stimulating the ear; also improves the capacity of concentration and develops the sensibility and the memory. Diverse studies in the fields of the education, the psychology and the music, have shown that the learning in the infancy of an artistic discipline as the music, improves the learning of reading, languages (included foreign languages), math and the academic performance in general, promoting the development of the human being. The musical learning to early age has been object of study since the different disciplines that compromise it, like teaching, the psychology and the music in itself. The human being in its different phases of formation and growth can promote many abilities that fortify other areas of development. The different learning, as well as the emotional, cognitive and psychomotor can be seen favored in the learning of the music. The great difference of learning music with other disciplines of the knowledge is besides, in the form as it approaches to that knowledge. The music is part of our everyday life and is present in all the activities of the culture: in games, in the activities, in the religious expressions, in the emotional expressions, etc., then, to be approached to the marvelous world of the music is to be approached of deeper way of human kind. Musical practice contributes to the physical self-esteem; the individual learns to value his skills. As for the emotional self-esteem, he permits to act with more confidence, to be happier, independent, to accept challenges and to recognize his personal value; he can be more tolerant against his limitations and frustrations. Referring to the social self-esteem, the music fortifies the sense of the cooperative work, the respect of itself and others, the tolerance with the errors of other, the solidarity and to be more open to the criticism. As for the academic self-esteem the individual feels privileged with its capacities, takes advantage of its potentialities, is more persistent, endeavor and has positive expectations for its future. Closing the references to the self-esteem, with relation to the self-esteem ethics, the musical work can help the student be defined as leader, he feels capable of achieving his commitments, he assumes responsibilities, he respect his values and he can be perceived with more virtues than defects.
